'Safer Churches' Training

'Safer Churches' Training recommended by Safe Place Services is based on an inter-denominational template created by partners of the Safe Church Project for use across the wider Christian Churches of Australia. The Safe Church Project is overseen by the National Council of Churches in Australia.

The Safer Churches training template is now used by over 40 Christian denominations and church groups, in particular Baptist, Uniting, Salvation Army, and Anglican Churches.

Safe Place Services have customized the Adventist version of the manual to make it 'New Zealand friendly' as well.

It is recommended that all local church Board members and child/youth leaders complete the full 5-hour workshop, followed by 3-yearly 'refresher' courses which are 2.5 hours in duration.
